What makes a women Beautiful

What makes women beautiful? I hear it can be her from the superficial like hair color, skin color, body size, her face, her eyes, to her body type. Oh yes I am going there.
The average size for a women around the world is a size 14. and yet I see that the fashion industry makes pretty "things" in sizes 10 and under. hey if you happen to be a women this size that is awesome it means that you tend to find the pretty stuff that actually fits and look gorgeous in it. What about us "average" women. are we not considered deserving of pretty attire? Maybe this is one of the reasons why so many women have self esteem issues. Curvy women are beautiful, in fact all women are beautiful and deserving. and just because my jean size happens to be a size 14 does not mean I am am ugly, unsexy or unhealthy. So what ever size you are in brace it your beautiful just the way you are.

Today is the day bloggers every where are getting together to admire other bloggers craft or creative areas. I creative in many areas of my home. I make soaps and candles in my kitchen, blog in my office cut my paper crafts in front of the TV and so on. Creativity I think is something that comes from being made in the image of our creator. God's Art can be seen in the color and shape flowers and birds feathers in landscapes and water features and mountains in the face of a child. To many artist God's creation is a source of inspiration the reality is that all our surroundings have either a positive or negative effect. Today we will have a chance to see how many bloggers "creative hubs" motivates and inspire them in a positive way to create beautiful things. What inspires you to be creative?

Where Bloggers Create

Creativity, What does it mean? As an artist I have many inspirations but God is my favorite. I think of Him putting His hands in the dirt and molding Adam to His image and then breathing life to Him. God made Adam with special care, like an artist, it took his time on every detail. That inspires me. What other things inspire me? People inspire, plants, flowers, colors, literature, my family, my dreams, my senses, I like to sit down and imagine exotic places the author is describing with awesome detail. I think to inspiration is everywhere.
Where do I create? Well everywhere and anywhere. Every spot in my home is fair game. from the dinning room table where I create tablescapes and my oldest child sits for hours drawing Pokemon to the kitchen where I make my soaps and candles.

For today we have red roses tablescape. A little of the romantic side, red roses. Red roses says love to me. This is a tablescape that I would enjoy with my husband with a really special dinner. Do you take time to romance your husband? make him feel like the king of the castle and pamper him with a special tablescape and a great dinner.

Celebrating Womanhood

What makes us unique as women. Is it our ability to love unconditionally. Can it be our sacrificial expressions of self denial when it comes to our children. Women are like a garden. If I have to chose a flower we would be roses. I really love roses. In my opinion roses add a bit of romance to the theme or better said they set the mood for romance. They are delicate, elegant, beautiful, soft, and smell good just like all of us women. Their shade or shape really does not matter as long as they are healthy. What is your favorite flower? How do they remind you of womanhood?

There is something to be said about pretty tables. Lets faces we all need to eat and how and we choose to eat can either make our days more pleasant and relaxing or it could be a part of our bland days. The same of the same. Boring!!! I don't want to live a bland life! I don't want the same every day. I want to life my life to the fullest and art in many forms adds that sparkle of my life. Here is one way to make dinner different. Strawberry Muffins

I like to try new things. Baking muffins with one of them. In the pre-schhol I work we are having an activity called "Muffins with Mom"I have been assigned to bring strawberry muffins. This I found in the internet. Enjoy it! I am looking forward to it.

"Strawberry muffins that can be made with fresh or frozen strawberries. If using frozen berries, thaw slightly, then chop with a knife."

Original Recipe Yield 8 muffins
Ingredients

1/4 cup canola oil
1/2 cup milk
1 egg
1/2 teaspoon salt
2 teaspoons baking powder
1/2 cup white sugar
1 3/4 cups all-purpose flour
1 cup chopped strawberries
Directions

Preheat oven to 375 degrees F (190 degrees C) oil an 8 cup muffin tin, or use paper liners.
In a small bowl, combine oil, milk, and egg. Beat lightly. In a large bowl, mix flour, salt, baking powder and sugar. Toss in chopped strawberries and stir to coat with flour. Pour in milk mixture and stir together.
Fill muffin cups. Bake at 375 degrees F (190 degrees C) for 25 minutes, or until the tops bounce back from the touch. Cool 10 minutes and remove from pan

Paper Mache Keepsake Box

This is super simple to do.I purchased the paper mache box at Michaels. I painted the box with creamed colored acrylic paint. After I let it dry with a sponged I painted gold accents to it. For the finishing touch I glued a piece of lace, a red bow and an angel.to the lid of the box. Here are some pics on the why they turned out.

Its seems to me that life is going by much faster. Is it because am turning 30 and my oldest child has a developing pre teen body and will turn 9 in less than 10 days? or just maybe I have forgot to stop and smell the roses. (Even do its still winter you can purchase some in your local Kroger) Maybe am not living life to the fullest. What ever the reason is I have made a commitment to my self to live my life to the fullest enjoying all of god's awesome gifts and praying for wisdom to handle the responsibility of caring and mentoring the children and people in trusted to me. May the Father grant you the wisdom to do the same.

Christmas and New Year Resolutions

Oh my, its been so long sense I have been to blogland. Its bee almost 4 weeks sense I read any of my emails and maybe 2 months sense i hav been at facebook. I have missed it but the rest was long over due. Christmas was great! My shopping was done by the secound week of december and my time home was been productful. as the new year approches i have a copple of New Year resolutions. Here are some.
Loose 60 pounds and keep it off.
Make an effort to be more organized.
Travel more.
Craft more
Cook more
Take more pictures
enjoy my life to the fullest and not take myself to seriously. What are some of your new year resolutions?

Inspiration, do you have any?

I love to read and write. I sometimes find inspiration in the simple things such as the colors and smell of my roses, the flavor of my warm Chai tea and even in the texture of the fabric in my tablecloth and the wind blowing on my curtains. However my reality is is that my inspiration comes and goes I can sit in front of my computer and nothing, from that day's expirience, comes to surface. So I am detarmine to take with me a journal and a pen along with my camera to capture and savor the joys of the simple things I enjoy and share them with others. Who knows who I will inspire.

Tea Pots and Tea cups

I collect tea cups and tea pots. I have been searching for something to display them, but I just did not want just anything and was not sure exactly what I wanted. I don't know if you ever felt that way before but I am glad there is an end to that crazy feeling? I found this mini shelf at Goodwill and I thought I just can make a little girlie cutesie looking and display some of my "pretties". So I cleaned it up, painted white and then sand it a little, to give it that old look. I want to paint some roses on it but I am not ready for that now. I have been teaching myself to paint flowers and so far its been a fun process. I feel free when I am painting. Color can transform items in way that has made me speechless. How about you? I see that happen a lot in bedrooms, livingroomes and kitchens. I have been busy with so many projects and I am exated to show them all to you. Today in honor of Wanda's Tea Time Tuesday celebration I would like to show my "pretties" shelf. Enjoy!

Ok getting ready for the upcoming holidays. Can you believe that the year is almost over? I am getting some stuff ready for thanksgiving dinner. This year it will be so special. my little girl Samantha will turn 5 on Thanksgiving Day, and for the first time in 8 years my mom will join us for the holiday. Ok here is what I have so far.

The plate has Philippians 4:13 "I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me." I absolutely love it. I got them at Ross for $2.49. So I need a tablecloth and centerpiece and lets see what else I find. here is one dish I might be preparing. Sweet Potato Sufflé

6 medium Sweet potatoes

1/4 cup Margarine (melted)
1/4 cup Milk
1/2 cup Sugar
1 package Miniature marshmallows

Directions:
Boil potatoes until tender, then peel. Beat warm potatoes in mixer until smooth. Add other ingredients except marshmallows. Pour into greased baking dish. Top with small marshmallows. Bake in 325F until marshmallows are golden brown.

Rose Swap

Farmers Market

Barbara, where are you? Well I have been very busy getting my soaps ready for the Farmers Market. It has been so much fun. I feel very good of the great response I have gotton from customers. I stareted making glycerin soap back in november. I have sensitive skin and I started making soaps for myself. Then i decided to sell my prduct and that is how it all began. Take a look at some of my stuff and let me know what you think.

Birds isthe theme of the day fo rme. I got this plates from Hobby Lobby. I really love the combination of the colors plus the bird and butterfly theme is ptretty cute as well. I sprayed painted this bird cage white. White is a neutra lcolor that really gives it a romantic flair to it. What do you think? This week will be great week i can feel it already. For thi last week of June I would love to celebrate it with chocolate. You can never go wrong with chocolate.

I got the plates from hobby lobby. It was love at first site.

I really liked this square tea cup and it's uniqueness.

This are candles. But they look so pretty.

The goodies in the table are made of soap. The smell really good and they are great for bathing and for decorations as you can see. If you are interested in some please let me know.

Today I am joining Cielo, at The House in the Roses and Susan from Between Naps on the Porch to celebrate Metamorphisis Monday and Showing off your Cottage Monday. Well one of my favorite things to do around my home is to decorate, re-invent and just make things pretty. Here is one of my projects.

This is what it looked like before. I spray pinted the cage white, and then I just decorated with flowers and butterflies. I found the butterflies at Dollar Tree. They are two for a dollar. They have them in pink, lilac and baby blue. The flowers I got in Michaels.

Tea Time

One of my personal hobbies is to take pictures of things that I come across that inspire me.

I know its tea time tuesday but I really like this idea for the patio. I am a cofee drinker as well. i love Cafe Bustello from Cuba. (it's some good stuff) But a cup of chai tea sounds good too. I really liked the furniture but I would spray paint white, is the romantic old soul in me.

I really like this china and the white table. It has that victorian romantic kind of flair that I absolutly love. One day when i have a tea house, its a childhood dream of mine, this is the style I would like to decorate it. If you had a tea house how would you decorate it?

I had the blessing to attend a winter banquet at the church were my youngest child goes to pre- school. The theme was the cinema and the entertainment has to see "Casablanca". I just love to create things. Sometimes all you need is some paper and glue to make trash beautiful. This is just a simple chocolate box. I just unwrapped the old paper and decoupaged it with pretty paper. Take a look. Know I have a pretty jewlery box that used to be an old chocolate box. What are your favorite crafts? My oldest daughter and I had the pleasure to enjoy some tea with the ladies of Bonaire Baptist Church in a mother and daughter tea. It was wonderful! It was fun to see Miss Jill's tea pot and tea cup collection all over the tables. I too collect tea pots and tea cups. Take a pick and enjoy this winter day with some tea, a blanket and your bible.

My porch is a place I like to just waist my time away.

The melodies of the birds and the fragraence of my flowers in the

spring time, the beautiful cool evenings of the summer, and my

yumy cup of warm Chai Tea in the fall How I miss them. Its just to

cold to sit in the porch. But all of us need rest including nature.

So I will wait as you slumber this winter and look forward to

My Christmas Tree this year is white and lilac. It was hard to geta picture, of the hole tree and a close up so I did it seperately. It has lilac flowers and the ornoments are white snowflakes and white pipe cliners woven in lace and a lilac ribbon. Enjoy the pictures.

My girls and I wanted another cat. Samantha, my youngest child, expresed her desire to love on animals that other people had abandon or just simply did not have a home. "We got a lot of love to give" she said. I was so proud of her caring nature and in a small way believed that we as a family could love another kitty. We went to the shelter, we "loved on" many kitties and desided to bring this one home. She is an adult cat but you know what ,everybody loves kittens, and the older ones almost-always never get adopted out. So meet Rossie our newest member of the family.

As large as the role our mothers have played, the word "mother" is more powerful when used as a verb than as a noun. All women are not mothers but all women are called to mother. To mother is to nurture, to train, to educate, to rear. As daughters of Eve, all women are uniquely gifted to help others in their lives become more of who they truly are - to encourage, nurture and mother them towards their true selves. In doing this, women partner with Christ in the vital mission of bringing forth life.The nurturing of life is a high and holy calling. And as a woman, it is yours. Yes, it takes many shapes and has a myriad of faces. Yes, men are called to this as well. But uniquely and deeply, this calling makes up part of the very fiber of a woman's soul - the calling to mother. All women are called to mother. And all women are called to give birth. Women give birth to all kinds of things - to a book (it's nearly as hard as a child, believe me), to a church or to a movement. Women give birth to ideas, to creative expressions, to ministries. We birth life in others by inviting them into deeper realms of healing, to deeper walks with God, to deeper intimacy with Jesus. A woman is not less of a woman because she is not a wife or has not physically born a child. The heart and life of a woman is much vaster than that. All women are made in the image of God in that we bring forth life. When we enter into our world and into the lives of those we love and offer our tender and strong feminine hearts, we cannot help but mother them.The capacity of a woman's heart for meaningful relationships is vast. There is no way your husband or your children can ever provide the intimacy and relational satisfaction you need. A woman must have women friends.

It is here, in the realm of relationship that women receive the most joy and the profoundest sorrows. The friendships of women inhabit a terrain of great mystery. There is a fierce jealousy, a fiery devotion and a great loyalty between women friends. Our friendships flow in the deep waters of the heart where God dwells and transformation takes place. It is here, in this holy place that a woman can partner with God in impacting another and be impacted by another for lasting good. It is here that she can mother, nurture, encourage and call forth Life.

To have a woman friend is to relax into another soul and be welcomed in all that you are and all that you are not. To know that, as a woman, you are not alone. Friendships between women provide a safe place to share in the experiences of life as a woman.

I have found that hard times do great things to our spiritual lives. It has really shown me that happiness is only found In God...not from God but In God. I can be happy because He is happy--sounds odd....but the Bible does teach that God does whatsoever he pleases....He is the happiest of all beings. Here...this is what I posted on one of my blogs:God is good to give me the thoughts I need to think on at the right time in answer to my plea. I needed this stuff by Piper and by Paul Tripp about why I can be happy even when the world is so broken. It is mainly because God is sovereign and glorious and working out His plan. He is Happy because He works all things according to the pleasure of his will--Psalm 115:3--"Our God is in the heavens; he does all that he pleases.""And if none of His purposes can be frustrated, then He must be the happiest of all beings. This infinite, divine happiness is the fountain from which the Christian Hedonist drinks and longs to drink more deeply." Piper-based on Psalm 115:3 I need to meditate on God's happiness"The deepest and most enduring happiness is found only in God. Not from God, but in God." AMENI can be happy because I can trust (not understand) that God is good, God is loving, God is working out His plan, God works all things for His glory. There is nothing more wonderful than His glorious being , His beauty, and realizing ...seeing some of this glory in my lifetime.My understanding is not the source of my happiness--"We simply need to accept that the reasons God does what he does in our lives, or how our life fits into the whole of his grand redemptive plan, will never be completely clear in this life. This is why real rest and peace is not found in knowing and understanding. It is only found in trust. Only when you have a quiet confidence in the Lord behind the plan and have come to know his love, wisdom, power, and grace, will you be able to rest in hope--even when you do not understand what God is doing in a particular moment in your life..................we trust in his holy name." Paul TrippBut basically the thought that hit me is that I can be happy because God is doing what He pleases--working all things out for good.....He is happy...I can be happy in Him. These thoughts have helped me immensely. Another thing that has helped is doing something creative that I love. We were meant to reflect God in our lives...being creative certainly does this. Another things is music and blogging--all have helped......healing does come.

Matamorphosis Monday

This is a very different MM. Usually the "blog land gals" show our metamorphosis in different household projects. This Monday I wanted to share a metamorphosis of the Spirit. My spiritual transformation. I have been wondering in a spiritual desert for the past four months. The emotional pain of broken friendship, broken relationships, or maybe the friends that I thought I had. What do you do with the feelings that the past 5 years you endured together meant nothing to them. What do you do with the loneliness? What do you with the feelings of betrayal and abandonment? I must confess that I too must take some responsibility to this. I kept counsel with women I should have never kept counsel with. All I can say that this suffering as brought me closer to God, My prayer life has transformed into conversations with Him, they are deeper and less superficial, instead of a list request. God has given me the joy again to cook for my girls, the joy of being alive again, the joy to be me again, I am not completely heal, however I hold on to hope that Christ will restore my spirit and my soul to a much sacred place I have never been before. I hold on to the fact that He knows the truth and the feelings of my heart. He knows. That little light of hope that He is with me shines as radiant as the sun does over the dew drops of my rose garden.

Anna's Story, A Journey of Hope

Anna's story is based on a story of a young woman's life experiences. Born HIV positive, abused and with a childhood based on secrets of her illness, Anna journey is a long one. Jenna Bush writes a non fictional account about a young girl trying to break free form the cycle of shame and poverty. Her most prized possession is a pictured of her mom, who passed away to Aids when Anna was three years old. For some this could be a hard story to read, none of us want to be reminded that there is a world out there that is suffering. We don't want to know about children being ill, abused, and neglected. The word of God commands us to have compassion for others sometimes this comes by just listening to other people heart but other times God encourages us to take action. What can you do? Luke 10:25-37, tells us about the good Samaritan. What makes him a good person? What are those "christ-like" qualities?
Let examine them:
Compassion. We all have fallen before. Don't criticize. Just listen.
Hope. Offer hope. Don't judge.
Resources. What resources can you offer those in need?
Initiative. Just do it! Don't just talk about it.
Silver. Pay for somebodies lunch, gas or groceries. Mat 5:15
Take time with people. Love people. that takes time.
The world is tired of words. Show people the love Christ has given you. Share your testimony. Be inspired by other people testimonies. Anna's Story is an awesome testimony of hope. I encourage you to be inspired by Anna's Story.

Henderson Village is a collection of 19th century homes and cottages situated on 18 bucolic acres in the heart of Central Georgia and located at what was once a thriving stagecoach intersection. The collection of superbly preserved century old dwellings with sprawling verandas and white columns recall the beauty and romance of the old south while providing today's modern comforts of a luxury resort. The girls, my friend Mellissia and I had a great time visiting this beautiful grounds. The walk thru the gardens was so peaceful and relaxing. Generosity of Spirit, Being happy for others

We all want to be kind of people who are happy for others when they experience success a cause of celebration their live, however it isn't always easy. Sometimes powerful, dark feelings come up at times when decorum dictates that we should be feeling the opposite. Instead of reaching out and celebrating for our loved one, we feel the raising up of our own pain. This pain may arise because we feel jealous of a friend for having something we do not have . It may arise because our friend's success will lead to us losing them in some way. It may arise for reasons we don't understand. The important thing is not to brush it under the rug, but to take it seriously and look at it; suppressing it will only make it worse. At the same time, we need to be sure to find a way to congratulate our friends and celebrate their successes as if they were our own.

The struggle with being happy for others presents itself early in life. If a child wants a toy and another child has it, the child will try to get it or it break down in tears. Those primal feelings are still present in most of us, and we have to acknowledge them when they arise. At the same time, it is when we care enough for someone to let go of what we want for ourselves that we grow as people. It can be a difficult dance to find ourselves suspended between wanting the toy and throwing a party to a friend who gets the toy.

Extending ourselves to celebrate the happiness of others requires a generosity of spirit that sometimes we find only in the process of doing it. So when your best friend moves to Spain with the person you had a crush on, tend your broken heart but throw them a going away party too.

Burying the Past

It time for me to burry the past and move on. Forgiving those who have hurt me as I wish for those to forgive me. What use to matter to me before does not matter to me now. I am out of the spiritual dessert and the promise land is flowing with milk and honey. If the Lord forgives me why should I not forgive others. It is time for me to prepare in my heart a better place for a better future relationship, with God my husband, my children, and my sisters in Christ. At this moment and the rest of the week I will continue to search my heart and asking God to cleanse what ever impurities it may containe. If you are in the same spiritual joerney look back you will see Jesus footprints in the desert sand. My God Bless you always.

Hopeful Friday, God is Eternal

Everything comes and everything goes, Ecclesiastes 3:6-7. Worldly things come and go. Even pets and people we love dearly. However the Alpha and Omega Jehovah is eternal. God offers us eternity thru salvation in Jesus Christ. All we have to do is accept, repent and believe. Eternity last longer than our life. Our life is only a nanosecond of God's existence. He is forever and He gives us forever. He is life and He gives us life. He is relationship and He gives us relationship. His goal for us is to spend eternity in a relationship with Him. What is your goal? Does it line up with God's eternal plan (His word) or with "popular" belief? (that includes doctrine and legalism) Read your bible, pray to Him, Stand up and don't be a Christian in the closet. Come out! Don't believe in what mean people say. Believe in God. Believe in Hope. Believe in Love. Be at peace.

Hopeful Friday Your Light will Shine

It has not been a secret that I have been wondering in the dessert. I have learned many things, like sometimes when you stand up for what is right it does not always go right. People I thought were friends turn up to be enemies, I know what is like to be bitter and I have learned to hate for the first time. They say its part of a normal process, its a stage. I must confess It not very pleasant to harbor this feelings. I know this is God's way of saying trust me not them. Maybe is God's way of saying I want you to know what it feels like so you can lead others out of it. I have learned that it so easy to cheer others from the side line and criticize them when they show weakness. When you are the one in that dessert it different ball game. I seems to me like I believe that God will do it for you not for me. It is a different perspective. I know I believe that is with me, That God does not care how old I am? If I am Hispanic or not. I am His child. A child of the light, because I am in Him and He is in me. I feel victorious in that. What is happening to you? are you wondering in the dessert? Remember that God is with you always. He means always. You are His child and He was giving victory to you. He is with you. ALWAYS. When He says Always He means Always. Trust Him. Pray To Him, Talk to Him.

Celebrating Family

A few weeks ago my family added two beautiful baby female cats to our family. Geta and Sasha. They were a gift from my mother to my girls. The girls could not help to fall in love of these adorable little trouble makers. This week we added to precious little animals to our family. Two little rabbits. My grass was so long in my back yard that their was a family of 6 baby rabbits hiding in the grass. As I was walking in the yard, on Tuesday morning, a stumbled in to a very scared baby rabbit who got away. The next day we found six more. I got one of them. So I ran to the pet store and, $177. later, the rabbit had a new home and everything it could want or need. On Thursday evening I hear my sister calling my name She had spotted another rabbit. After we ran after it, It joined its sibling in new rabbit condo. This morning I found another one, however it had drowned in my pound, so I berried it. I was so sad!Our pets are part of our family. We love them and enjoy there presence and mourn there death. So today I will like to honor my pets, who are also part of my family. So are your animals part of the family or are they just owned by you?

Hopeful Friday Finding Comfort in the Word

I must confess that I am in a stage of healing. Being Hurt by a friend, a pastor I trusted and getting ready for my husband to leave for a 13 month tour to Korea without me has left me in a serious need for God's Word. I have learned many leassons thru this and I take hope in this passage.
"I am the true vine, and my father is the gardener.
He cuts off every branch in me that bears no fruit,
while every branch that does bear fruit he prunes
so that it will be even more fruitful. You are
already clean because of the word I have spoken
to you. Remain in me and I will remain in you.
No branch can bear fruit by itself; it must remain
in the vine. Neither can you bear fruit unless you
remain in me."
John 15:1-4

I know He will redeem me. He will restore and I already feel victorious. All I have to do is remain in Him. What an awesome God I serve.

Wake up is spring!

Today I would like to celebrate spring, rebirth and redemption. It has been a hard week. I week full of disappointment, hurt, anger, and many other emotions. It really hard to explain however I have come to understand that just like God's other creation (The Earth) We too are restored. Tablescape Thursday Chinesse Inspired

Susan is hosting another tablescape Thursday and I wanted to share my creation for the Valentine Banquet held on February 7, 2009. I had sooooo much fun with this table. I found the hand fans at the Korean market down town. I held them up with glass candle holders. I imagined a Beta fish swimming across in the flower vase, So guess what I put him there.
